Lighter and more powerful than the 650S, the McLaren 720S stands out in McLaren's Super Series range. It establishes itself as a supercar that's as high-performing on the track as it is comfortable for everyday driving. But don't let its ease of handling fool you; it hides an explosive personality. Let's take a closer look at the McLaren 720S. A car that would obviously be right at home in a custom-built Innova-Box garage !

McLaren 720S: When lightness meets power
Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2017, the McLaren 720S dazzles with its sportiness and structure. The latter, despite being lightweight thanks to its carbon fiber construction, is ultra-rigid, ensuring perfect protection for passengers in the event of an extreme impact. This robustness extends to the interior, with its aluminum alloys, and also to the under-hood.
The 720S's aerodynamic design was entirely conceived by the automaker. Their goal was to eliminate the air intakes on the car's sides. New intakes were also integrated into the headlights to feed the radiators. Furthermore, the rear wing deploys fully or partially under braking in less than half a second. This helps stabilize the car and provides additional downforce to increase cornering speeds.
Power and lightness are the two watchwords! The suspension has been redesigned to reduce its mass and lighten the car. Not to mention the braking system, which is also two kilos lighter than that of the 650S. Even the audio system was chosen for its lightness!
A closer look at the motorization
Power enthusiasts were immediately captivated by the 720S's 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine. Not to mention its 720 horsepower, capable of propelling it from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in under 3 seconds. While the 720S boasts 70 more horsepower than the 650S it replaces, it weighs 40 pounds (18 kg) less, resulting in an exceptional driving experience.
And, speed doesn't necessarily mean pollution. With the McLaren 720S, pollutant emissions are reduced. Indeed, the 720S's V8 engine is an evolution of the 650S's. The indirect injection system still features two injectors per cylinder to ensure adequate fuel delivery while allowing for improved combustion. The stop-start system with a reinforced starter also significantly reduces CO2 emissions.
Life on board
Inside this supercar, you'll find a fully interactive infotainment system capable of communicating with the driver. McLaren has also taken personalization quite far in terms of finishes, offering a choice of 20 colors to customize the bodywork, as well as the dashboard and its details.
In terms of comfort and spaciousness, the McLaren 720S remains a true benchmark in its class. Inside, the well-designed storage compartments and sufficiently large trunk allow for ample room for belongings, which is rather rare, let's face it, in this category of car.
The slim windshield pillars ensure excellent visibility to the front, as well as to the rear, where the field of vision is optimal. The driving position is also very good, not to mention the very clean dashboard design. Refinement is present, and so is driving pleasure.
McLaren 720S: a car to showcase
Performance, speed, lightness, ultra-precise controls… The McLaren 720S excels in many areas. Such a level of design deserves the utmost care. If you're considering buying such a supercar, or if you already own this gem, you're undoubtedly a car enthusiast. And like any self-respecting enthusiast, you'll naturally want to showcase your vehicle once it's parked at home. That's why Innova-Box has created a brand-new concept that allows you to transform your garage into an exceptional space where your vehicle will find its perfect home. “The idea is to design an extraordinary space, which can even be designed around the brand of your supercar,” adds Gérald Mouret, founder of Innova-Box. “With illuminated logos and custom-made furniture, it's entirely possible to create a unique experience, designed specifically for your McLaren 720S. ”
The McLaren 720S is undeniably magnificent from every angle. Its shape is inspired by the teardrop, a perfect form created by nature itself, and adopted to achieve exceptional performance. Designed down to the smallest detail, it deserves a space worthy of its prestige. It deserves an Innova-Box garage.
